Straumann titanium abutment blanks for Ceramill CAD/CAM

In-house processing of original Straumann titanium abutment blanks using the Ceramill Motion 2 (5X)

Institut Straumann AG and Amann Girrbach AG have decided on close collaboration in the field of implant prosthetics. This cooperation between the two companies means that in future original Straumann titanium abutment blanks can also be used for processing in the Ceramill Motion 2 (5X) as well as the existing portfolio of Amann Girrbach titanium abutment blanks.

Ceramill TI-Forms are industrially prefabricated titanium abutment blanks with highly precise connection geometries from which one-piece titanium abutments can be fabricated in-house using the Ceramill Motion2 (5X). Only a special adapter is required which can be used for upgrading already installed Ceramill Motion 2 milling machines for wet processing of the blanks. In contrast to conventional milling, in which the blank mainly remains in a static position, during rotational milling the blank rotates continuously around its own axis due to so-called “multipass milling” in the wet mode. This not only saves the travel paths of the cutter but also provides for uniformly homogeneous material removal and surfaces with both a precise and smooth surface finish. Laboratories profit from an increased saving in time and maximum value creation thanks to complete in-house fabrication.

Like the Ceramill TI-Forms, the Straumann titanium abutment blanks will be processed using the rotational milling technique, which fully guarantees the quality of the restoration. Unlimited Straumann guarantee, service and support complete the product range.
