A Touch to Control OR Light

Dräger’s Polaris 600 ceiling-mounted operating theatre light now comes with sterile touch control, enabling the surgeon and other members of the surgical team to adjust the light settings themselves.

The upper surface of the light’s handle reacts in a similar way to a smartphone or tablet – a swipe of the thumb increases or reduces the light intensity and a double click adjusts the light field.

The Polaris 600 also has a camera fitted under the lens, meaning only one surface has to be sterilized. Images of the operation can be viewed at any workstation in the operating theatre or recorded for training purposes.
