The Dot Watch Enables Mobile Braille Communication

The Dot Watch is the first Braille smart watch for visually impaired people. The device gives blind users fast, mobile access to information. It is lighter than previous Braille readers, terminals and books, and is claimed to be much cheaper.

The watch can be connected to the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth. Its surface consists of four touch-sensitive dynamic Braille cells. Each has small pins, which descend and rise on the watch’s surface to form Braille letters when a message comes in.

The user can read the messages with the fingers. Dot also functions as a normal watch, offers a slim design and can be worn easily on the wrist.
