{FIME} An Instant Room for Infectious Patients

Manufactured by GAMA Healthcare and showcased at FIME 2018, the Clinell RediRoom claims to be the world’s first mobile patient isolation chamber.

Lightweight, durable and easy to move, it can be assembled around a patient’s bed in less than five minutes.

The RediRoom is designed to isolate infectious patients in multi-bed wards, ICUs, emergency rooms and open-plan areas such as dialysis or chemotherapy day units. It can also be used in home care and in other non-hospital environments such as military bases, airports and cruise ships – as well as in pandemic situations.

The product consists of one main, reusable frame – which doubles as a mobile personal protective equipment (PPE) station – and a canopy that should be disposed after each single use up to a maximum of 14 days to reduce contamination risks.

The RediRoom has its own High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance (HEPA) and carbon filtration system to filter the infectious air (with 12 air changes per hour) and provides both temperature control and odor elimination. It also incorporates an automated hands-free door opening mechanism, which eliminates the risk of hand contamination.
