Bologna’s biannual international healthcare exhibition

Exposanita’, Bologna’s biannual international healthcare exhibition, recently wrapped up its 20th edition. Fair exhibitors displayed a wide range of products, focusing on mobility, orthopedics, medical IT and physical therapy. There were numerous workshops on a wide range of topics, from public health to technological innovations. Particularly striking was the large number of non-professionals present, including many handicapped persons seeking suitable material.

Of special interest among the wheelchairs—lightweight materials, minimalist design and models that climb stairs. There were also multiple chair accessories, including add-ons for motorizing a manual chair. Another highlight was 3D printing, systems that greatly facilitate the creation orthoses requiring custom fabrication. A very light, compact smart scrubber-dryer was another eye-catcher.
