A New Hip in Just a Day

In and out in a day with a new hip

This new surgical protocol is made possible by combining highly-organized pre- and postoperative hospital logistics with anterior approach replacement surgery. This minimally invasive procedure limits soft tissue trauma and takes about an hour. Patients are back on their feet faster, experience less pain and a lower risk of hip displacement. However, these advantages only last for six to 12 weeks after surgery. Organizing medication and physical therapy sessions before the operation means patient release isn’t delayed by administrative tasks. The patient also should be accompanied by a “coach” trained to help out at home for the first night.
