Doximity, the social network for physicians, now counts over 500,000 American healthcare workers, including 60% of all US doctors

It offers a simple way for members to communicate, share scientific and patient information and reduce unnecessarily repetitive testing of patients moving from doctor to doctor. The system also could reduce medical error, thought to be a leading cause of death in the US, by reducing the miscommunication that causes it. Physicians can search for colleagues by specialty, location or other criteria, share contact information and medical publications. And hospitals can use the system when hiring new staff. Doximity also feeds new articles to potentially interested members.
