The UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai) held its annual congress from 6 to 8 February. According to the organisers, more than 48,000 visitors from all over the world attended the event, which is the largest dental show in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region.
Held under the theme “Education and innovation transfer”, the 22nd AEEDC Dubai was opened by Deputy Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al-Maktoum during the welcome ceremony His Highness then toured the exhibition area together with industry officials, praising the development of the industry and AEEDC as a pioneering dental event itself.
What followed was an event filled with opportunities to attend lectures by more than 150 international and regional speakers, network with other dental professionals, interact at engaging booth activities and foster business partnerships with the exhibiting companies.
Besides the exhibition and the main scientific programme, other conferences and meetings were held, including that of the Global Scientific Dental Alliance. A host of additional educational and scientific activities were also offered, such as advanced speciality courses, the Emerging Speakers Session, poster presentations and the AEEDC Student Competition.
At the AEEDC Dubai 2018 Awards on the last day of the event, the winners of the poster competition and of the student contest were given prizes. The organisers also arranged AEEDC Dubai Night gala dinner as part of the enjoyable social programme.

The next AEEDC event will take place from 5 to 7 February 2019 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Again, attendees can expect a comprehensive scientific programme covering the most important topics, accompanied by clinical cases, in the field of dentistry and an extensive list of exhibitors showcasing the latest and most innovative advancements.
