Bottles Simplify Tracking, Transporting of Samples

Certified sample collection containers with RFID tag-embedded labels encoded with a unique electronic product code (EPC) are available from Environmental Express, a Cole-Parmer Company.

These RFID tags, located on the sample bottles and product cartons, allow lab personnel and field sample collectors to track samples from receiving the empty bottle through each step of sample collection and testing. The tags provide convenience to collect and log sample collection information using a smart device and app, and immediately upload field sample data. Along with a time-and-date-stamp and geolocation of the collection site, data can be uploaded to a cloud-based database to access information in real time from anywhere. Sample collection data can be easily downloaded to a laboratory information management system.
