BIOMAT FILTER: PROLONGS LIFE OF DENTAL SURGERY EQUIPMENT

Innovative Filter Removes all Solids and Hazardous Amalgam

Processing hazardous waste from the medical industry remains a challenge for hospitals, clinics and surgeries. This task is greatly helped by newer and more sophisticated technologies coming on the market. One such technology is the BioMat Filter from ETI Dental Industries Ltd. This chair side filtration system is top of the line and prolongs the life of dental equipment, such as the suction system by removing all solids; including amalgam a hazardous mercury alloy used in dental procedures.

The filter is made up of three different solid separator technologies. The first level removes large solids from the stream by way of filtration. The second level removes more solids by employing centrifugation and sedimentation techniques, the speed of the dental stream is slowed down and the solids are allowed to settle out of the dental stream. The final level is made up of two further filtration stages, the first prevents any particles larger than 1 mm entering the Bio container. The Bio container can be hermetically sealed for safe disposal of waste. The second filters down to a level of 0.1 mm. The Bio filter protects the more sensitive amalgam separators used in dental surgeries. The BioMat Filter is also very versatile and can be mounted on type of dental unit.
