"Medical Futurist," Dr. Bertalan Mesko, Outlines His Vision For the Future

MedicalExpo caught up with “geek physician” and “medical futurist” Dr. Bertalan Mesko who was a guest speaker at the recent digital health conference, Doctors 2.0 & You. Dr. Mesko spoke to us about how new technologies are providing doctors with the opportunity to inject more humanity into medicine. The Hungarian futurist believes “the future of medicine is about patients”, “they will have access to any kind of information and to measure all of their own health parameters.” Tools such as wearable devices, portable medical devices and digital services are increasingly making this form of personalized healthcare possible. He also spoke about the need for physicians to engage with their patients and to empower them more. He feels doctors should be responsive to patient queries and contact via the digital world.
