As everyone knows, “Sharing is Caring !” Even more if it involves saving someone’s life. Doctors and all the healthcare professionals endure more years of learning and internships than any other field.

Medicine is by definition:

The science or practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Theory is the first step to gaining knowledge, but the most educative part is practicing! Nowadays, social media isn’t just about trivial distractions, it’s the kind of new and brightest way to share and learn. Information has to be short, direct and visual, Figure1 understands this pretty well.

Figure1 is a specialized smartphone app created by a company of the same name, co-founded by Dr Landy and Gregory Levey. It’s a specialized photo-sharing hub for physicians and other medical professionals, that lets them interact with and share photos of medical conditions for teaching and diagnostic purposes while incorporating safeguards to ensure patient privacy and consent.

The company formally markets Figure 1 as an educational tool, not a diagnostic one. Dr. Landy says he’s seen doctors using the tool to quiz students and residents about medical conditions . Co-founder and CEO Gregory Levey, estimates that about 15% of U.S. medical students use the app.

The app offers doctors and other medical professionals a wider range of cases than they might see in ordinary practice.
