High-Tech Cancer Hosiptal's Efficient Use of Data

Take a tour of Centre Léon Bérard, located in Lyon, one of France’s leading cancer surgery hospitals. Through our e-magazine’s informative photo-report you can gain an insight into how a high-tech medical facility manages patient data to achieve the best patient outcomes. The hospital places great emphasis on the ready accessibility of real-time information, to efficiently manage each operating room. Since its redevelopment the facility holds 11 operating rooms, all of which need to be skillfully managed to avoid losing valuable operating time.

The hospital also follows an innovative philosophy, where by 90 percent of patients walk to the operating theatre. Each room is equipped with four screens and three computers, where the various healthcare professionals, from nurses to anesthetists and surgeons, can competently manage each surgical operation. In addition, authorized personnel can access information externally, for example supervisors can monitor everything that happens within the room. Finally, the hospital has a dedicated search engine for retrieving and consulting post-op information, allowing for continuous traceability.
