FDA CLEAR DEVICE THAT TRACKS THE MOVEMENTS OF PARKINSON’S PATIENTS
Personal KinetiGraph from Global Kinetics Corporation is Cleared by FDA
In recent times we have seen a whole host of health-focused, movement tracking, wearable devices lining up to receive FDA approval. The Personal KinetiGraph from Australia-based Global Kinetics Corporation has now been cleared by the FDA. It is a wearable tracker aimed specifically at monitoring the movements of patient’s suffering from Parkinson’s disease. It is capable of collecting and storing up to 10 days of patient movement data and is already in use in Australia. It is claimed that data collected this way, provides clinicians with a more accurate assessment of a patient’s mobility than would normally be ascertained during an office visit. The device can also be programmed to vibrate at pre-determined times to remind patients to take their medication.
