EPIDERMAL ELECTRONICS

The future of electronics will be worn on your skin

Flexible electronics are part of the near future. With vast progress being made, researchers have developed a way to “print” electronics onto the skin. “Epidermal electronics” consist of ultrathin electrodes, electronics, sensors, as well as wireless power and communication systems. The device can measure temperature, skin hydration, etc. In the medical world, such thin electronics could be used to wirelessly monitor an open wound or incision even after the patient has left the hospital. The latest version has become more durable, able to stay on the skin for up to two weeks. Surely a technology with a very bright future.
