A technology-focused design for modern healthcare

Design can be a subject of contention for the medical community. By focusing first on how the room functions rather than how it looks, NXT Health’s Patient Room 20/20 reconciles the two worlds, and technology becomes the glue that holds it all together. Simple changes were made to take into consideration how a medical professional and patient use a room. For example, no more lights and switches, a patient simply has to touch a surface to turn on a light. The design does not stop at simple ergonomics. Patients become advocates with interactive applications and devices that place a wealth of information at their fingertips, enabling them to take an active role in their health and recovery. Overall, the concept strives to reduce waste, accidents and accommodate an eventual increase in demand for services, and we look forward to seeing such concepts become realities.
