BED HEAD UNITS: THE LED LIGHTING IS STEPPING FORWARD

Leader in the design, production and marketing of bed head units for hospitals, Sostel already in 2010 started considering the implementation of the LED lighting in the design of some models of Kabel series. The aim was to exploit the actual advantages of such a lighting system in terms of energy saving.

Thanks to the continuous effort towards the setting-up and the optimization at a technical level, today the full range of bed head units of the Kabel series can offer something more: the LED lighting certified by IMQ as meeting the standards required for the use in electromedical equipment.

In order to obtain this certification, Sostel has been focusing on the use of basic components able to maximize the lighting user''s comfort, taking into account the evidences pointed out by a lot of studies in the field of photobiology. The latter is the scientific discipline dealing with determining the effects of lighting on humans: their sight, their general health, their well-being, their ability to concentrate, the efficiency of their biological processes, etc ...

The LED lighting certified by IMQ will be a standard on all models of Kabel series marketed from now on, but it can be easily implemented in all Kabel bed head units already installed, with a simple, easy and quick relamping (adaptation of the lighting system), which only involves the replacement of the lamp support with a new LED support.

Thanks to the significant energy saving, LED lighting in bed head units can assure real economic advantages to hospitals, where artificial lighting is necessarily exploited many hours a day. Moreover, we have to consider the important benefit that the whole community draws in terms of quality of the environment: less energy consumption and waste, reduced exploitation of energy sources, both renewable and fossil ones.

This is the exact direction Sostel intends to go, in close cooperation with its customers, to give a substantial contribution to the respect for the environment we are going to deliver to future generations.
