AHA Hyperbarics for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Certified Medical Hyperbaric Chambers

Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder with a complex etiology.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurobiological disorder that typically affects development within the first three years of life and is characterized by multiple deficits and symptoms like:

- impaired communication ability (verbal or non-verbal)

- impaired social interaction

- restricted and/or repetitive interests (repetitive actions; verbally repeating words, phrases, or sentences (i.e. perseverating on a topic)

- sensory issues like over or under sensory stimulation, including other developmental difficulties

The autism spectrum describes a group of people who experience one or several mild to severe social, behavioral and communication problems, usually showing other symptoms.

Early diagnosis and intervention for children, also timely and personalized HBO treatment interventions for people of all ages and levels of ability can often improve symptoms of ASD and maximize abilities to help people function at near-normal levels.

HBOT for Autism: Clinical Review of Autism Treatments in AHA Hyperbarics’ Chambers (2016-2024)

AHA Hyperbarics concluded an extensive review of clinical treatments conducted in their hyperbaric oxygen chambers, focusing on patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) between the ages of 2 and 16. The review, covering the period from 2016 to 2024 analyzed treatment outcomes in 506 children, comprising 306 male and 200 female patients.

Results are Proven

The results revealed a remarkably high level of efficacy for hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in addressing autism symptoms. A significant 96% of the patients exhibited unparalleled improvements following treatment in the AHA Hyperbaric chambers. These improvements included enhanced communication skills, better social interaction, and reduced sensory sensitivities, providing a hopeful perspective for families seeking non-invasive and multifunctional therapy.

Treatment Protocol

The treatments were standardized across all patients, at a pressure of 1.6 ATA, a level recognized for its therapeutic effectiveness in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Each patient took between 25 and 30 sessions, with each session lasting 60 minutes. Treatments were administered at least three times per week, ensuring a consistent approach over this treatment period.
