Offline Living: The New Luxury

True Rest and Renewal

Today, offline life is a luxury. More and more rarely do we take time to disconnect from digital platforms, whether because of work, family, errands, or leisure. We can hardly live without a device in our hands. Why do scientists warn about the importance of a daily short break from mobile and other digital devices? Neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman explains why it all begins with regularly switching off your phone.

Studies show that the average person spends about four hours a day on their phone, checking it at places like the dinner table, the bedroom (for those late-night scrolls), and, sadly, even the bathroom (Anna Brech, 2024).

“People talk about the dopamine of social media,” Dr. Huberman said. “It only comes at the beginning. But then, once you get into the dopamine scrolling, you start seeking more dopamine hits. Because guess what, that pool of dopamine waves gets drained, and people become addicted to their devices.”

If you feel excited at the thought of using your phone or during the use of a social media app, it has a negative effect on the dopamine system forming. “But if you find yourself mindlessly scrolling, and it’s doing nothing for you, you’re pushing that pool dangerously,” Dr. Huberman said.

In other words, when the dopamine release related to what you’re doing on your phone runs out, the addictive effect really kicks in, leading to an unhealthy lifestyle. Stop fuelling your body with negative emotions! That’s why everyone should consider how to replace harmful dopamine: whether it’s disconnecting in nature, reading, cooking, lying down, meditating, exercising, or doing nothing. The lack of time to relax and recover is driving the demand for innovative and fast-track anti-aging solutions that help reduce the effects of stress, poor sleep, and a general lack of balance in everyday life.

That is why breathing slowly and cleanly is important. When you breathe slowly, your nervous system calms down. It will find the balance needed to function optimally and healthily. The healthier your nervous system, the higher your heart rate variability, and the faster you can switch gears, showing more resilience and flexibility.

Many scientists and doctors recommend taking one hour a day to rest your body and mind and focus on breathing!

Have you thought about how to take care of your body and mind? What if you would take 60min to rest your body and mind in a hyperbaric chamber, breathing pure oxygen under pressure?

Why is oxygen important?

Oxygen is probably the most important thing we need more than food and water. Our body can go for weeks without food. We can go for maybe days without water, but within minutes of being deprived of oxygen, brain functions begin to collapse. After 1 minute, brain cells begin dying. After 3 minutes, neurons suffer more extensive damage, and lasting brain damage becomes more likely. At five minutes, death becomes imminent.

When O2 or blood flow (which carries the nutrients) is reduced, the neuronal ATP levels break down very fast, with 90% ATP depleted in less than 5 minutes.

Stress, poor diet, bad posture, aging, air pollution, and lack of exercise limit our normal oxygen intake, which leads to oxygen deficiency and oxygen starvation, possibly the single greatest cause of all diseases. The reason stands, the body must need oxygen supplementation to maintain a healthy environment. Breathing pure oxygen in a hyperbaric chamber offers a range of benefits for your body, primarily because it significantly increases the amount of oxygen your body can absorb and deliver to tissues. Normally, our blood carries oxygen through the body, but under normal atmospheric conditions, the body’s tissues and cells may not get as much oxygen as they need, especially in areas of poor circulation. Stress can cause poor circulation by increasing blood pressure and putting more strain on the veins. When you enter a hyperbaric chamber, the high-pressure environment allows your lungs to absorb oxygen more efficiently, leading to an increased concentration of oxygen in your bloodstream.

Supporting three key pillars of health
