Ceramill Matik - time is on your side

Ceramill Matik – the first Digital Native Automation unit that "caters" for itself and leaves the dental technician free to focus on the essentials

With the new Ceramill Matik processing unit Amann Girrbach revolutionizes the digital laboratory routine. The innovative full service unit combines the actual processing station with a fully automatic stock management system, with intelligent tool management and an integrated cleaning unit, which enables an automatic change between wet and dry mode. This means that the Ceramill Matik works fully autonomously and can also manufacture unsupervised during the night or on weekends. The dental technician is thus freed from unproductive secondary activities, which previously occupied up to 40 percent of his/her working time, and can now focus 100 percent on value creation in the laboratory.

The brain behind the new end-to-end solution is the completely redesigned 10-axis control unit. Among other things, it masters the innovative processing modes of the Ceramill DNA Generation such as the patented Carving mode, Thrilling (fabrication of one-piece abutments) and speed milling of acrylic materials. A maximum variety of indications and materials from hard and brittle block materials, zirconium and PMMA materials to metal materials is thus guaranteed.

The processing station is served by an intelligent material and tool management system. Among other things, this includes the integrated blank tank, which holds so many materials that it can even always reload the processing station over a weekend. In addition, all materials can easily be read in – either at goods receiving or directly in the system – and "married" to intelligent holders. In addition, an RFID chip on the holder makes it possible to read out all relevant material information contact-free. This allows the dental technician to view all materials available in the laboratory at any time.

The innovative Tool Management brings intelligence to tool administration – patent-pending. Together the milling cutter and the packaging form a unit that can be used directly, conveniently and without a defined location (chaotic) in the tool tray. Through the integration of a contactless readable RFID chip in the packaging, the tool data is read by the machine and the current status is stored on the tool unit after each operation. Never again do milling cutters have to be disposed of almost unused, because the material to which they belong and the current service life are unknown and never again do tools have to be assigned manually in the software to ensure process safety.

Automatic cleaning of the working area is also required for automated continuous production without human intervention. This is why the Ceramill Matik was designed accordingly right from the beginning. To keep the milling station permanently clean, the ergonomically designed milling interior without corners has a special and durable coating, irrigation bars on the sides of the machine, 360-degree irrigation via the spindle rim and an overpressure chamber to protect the tools. With two powerful industrial pumps in the Ceramill Cleanstream unit with a total irrigation capacity of around 40 liters per minute, the milling chamber is irrigated reliably, autonomously and thoroughly.

For everyday laboratory routine all this means: the dental technician regains his/her role as the pacesetter in the digital manufacturing process – not the machine.
