Modified Atmosphere Packaging: Make sure you''re under control with EXOS!
It is quite a challenge to ensure the correct control of MAP
First you need to control the gas content of your package with a gas analyzer. Then you need to control the leakage of your pack to make sure that the gas will stay inside over time. Leak testing should not be underestimated to guarantee product shelf life.
If leak testing is crucial in your QC procedure, you will need effective and reliable equipment to perform the tests. The equipments available on the market can vary a lot. When choosing a method you should always consider 3 important points: Accuracy; Practicality; and Budget
- Accuracy: The test should be able to detect pinholes in the problematic size range (pinholes between 30µm to 50µm and above). Furthermore, always prefer leak analysis than leak detection. By measuring your leakage you can monitor your production and improve your process
- Practicality: The leak test should first consider the hygiene criteria in production: no water presence, no potential contamination of operator''s hands. Furthermore, always choose a method the staff will be able to handle. If the test is too complicated then you have a high risk of bad handling, and breakage.
- Budget: If the method you have selected meets the above criteria, then you should also consider the cost of the device. Not only the cost of acquisition, but also long term costs like the number of samples destroyed.
As a leader in packaging quality testing we have been working on a new solution, EXOS; to guarantee these 3 key points:
- Accuracy: EXOS is an analyzer with high performances. EXOS can quantify leaks down to 5 µm. And the accuracy of the method is high and easily repeatable.
- Practicality: EXOS is provided with user friendly software, so anyone can use it without any advanced training. The EXOS is also protected to IP41 which able to resist most production environments. The flow control option avoids suction of product into the system and incorrect handling.
- Budget: EXOS is combining Gas and Leak analysis in one machine, so you just need one device to do both test. EXOS is also doing the 2 tests on the same sample, so it won''t produce more waist than what you already have when doing your gas analysis.
In conclusion, EXOS seems to be the perfect solution for MAP QC. What are you waiting for to give a shot? Contact us and ask for a quotation or demo.
