Verification of Wireless Microphone Systems According to EUHA Guideline

Standardized measurement setup for realistic classroom listening simulations

Wireless microphone systems are established solutions for hearing aid users who struggle to understand speech in noisy environments, particularly in classroom settings. Children benefit significantly from these systems as they enhance speech clarity and support active participation in everyday school life. To objectively verify their effectiveness, EUHA Guideline 04-06 defines a standardized measurement procedure that simulates realistic listening situations with background noise and greater speaker distance.

The setup requires a hearing aid measurement box and a compatible audiometer equipped with at least one front free-field loudspeaker. In addition, either a ceiling-mounted omnidirectional loudspeaker or two side free-field loudspeakers must be available and able to operate simultaneously to create the defined test environment.
