Explore Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser Technology
Laser hair removal technologies primarily include three methods
1.Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
IPL uses incoherent, broad-spectrum light. It absorbs light energy from melanin, heating and damaging hair follicles, thereby slowing hair growth. This method is suitable for individuals with lighter skin and dark hair and is relatively safe, but it is less precise and may require multiple treatments. Individuals with darker skin may face risks such as hyperpigmentation.
2.Diode Laser
Diode laser targets melanin in hair follicles, delivering precise heat damage and reducing hair growth by up to 69%. It is suitable for skin types I–III and is particularly effective for dark hair. Compared to IPL, it requires fewer treatments, is more comfortable, and has a lower risk of damaging surrounding tissue.
3.Nd:YAG Laser
Nd:YAG laser has a longer wavelength (1064nm) and greater penetrating power, allowing it to more selectively target melanin in hair follicles. It is particularly suitable for individuals with darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV–V). It offers long-lasting hair removal, minimal side effects, and a comfortable treatment process. Multiple treatments are typically required for optimal results. However, because Nd:YAG lasers absorb less melanin than shorter-wavelength lasers, they pose a lower risk of side effects in patients with darker skin tones. Treatments are generally more comfortable and safer with minimal discomfort compared to other lasers.
