Somewhere between analog and digital

Easy transfer of images and findings between radiology, patients and hospitals

Radiology facilities face the problem of transferring patient data, which is often frustrating due to inefficient portals and outdated technologies. The challenges include the need to make patients' data easily accessible and to transfer data to other physicians in a simple and privacy-compliant way. Most solutions on the market are heterogeneous and incompatible, making communication between different facilities difficult. In addition, many patients still have old CDs or DVDs with image and diagnostic data, which leads to an enormous amount of time being spent on downloading and importing into local systems.

DISCUS offers an innovative hybrid solution, the DICOM Media Center. This enables both the production of patient CDs and digital media storage in a secure server infrastructure. Patient data is not stored in the cloud, but automatically uploaded to a server cluster. The DMC.WebSafe portal gives referring physicians and further treatment facilities secure access to the data via a secure HTTPS connection. Data security is guaranteed by a combination of encryption technologies and individual access rights. In addition, all images and findings are automatically burned onto a CD/DVD and printed with individual labels to provide physical copies. Patients also receive access data, such as a QR code, with which the findings can be accessed in the DMC.Websafe portal. This solution ensures data protection and makes the transfer of patient data more efficient and user-friendly.
