DynaMesh Endolap 3D
DynaMesh®ENDOLAP 3D is made from 100 % polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as currently best polymer for medical devices with respect to its biocompatibility, mechanical properties and ageing resistance. Threedimensional mesh implants for inguinal and femoral hernia repair using the TEP / TAPP technique ensure time saving and efficient intraoperative handling for the surgeon.
Furthermore, the implants must remain in an anatomically correct position postoperatively, to fulfil their function safely in the long term. In according to results which arise from an interdisciplinary study performed at Aachen University Hospital, the requirements for 3Dimplants were totally reassessed and clinically validated. On the basis of DynaMesh® visible technology, which enables postoperative MRI monitoring of the implant''s position, a 3Dshape was developed that suits optimally to the patient''s anatomy. After draining the pneumoperitoneum, DynaMesh®ENDOLAP 3D conforms to the anatomically correct shape while fully maintaining its stabilising function and continuing to overlap the defect. The highest degree of patient safety can now be achieved.
Sophisticated requirements demand innovative solutions for the design of 3Dimplants. Especially the “buckling zone“ on the inguinal ligament as a region of maximum postoperative distortion should not be allowed to cause complications during ingrowth and must therefore remain wrinklefree to ensure high effective porosity. CURVATOR® technology was especially developed for the curving sections in meshes.
By the use of CURVATOR® technology, DynaMesh®ENDOLAP 3D exhibits an outstanding ability, to adjust to the new anatomical conditions even in delicate areas as the “buckling zone”. The high effective porosity minimizes local scarring along with the associated risk of pain. The incorporation of markers located in line with anatomical landmarks (inguinal ligament, inferior epigastric artery and external iliac artery) ensures standardised and accurate positioning of the implant in each patient. DynaMesh®ENDOLAP 3D is also available in a MRI visible version where small ferromagnetic particles are incorporated into the PVDF filaments. MRI visibility enables an advanced followup proceeding including a very precise evaluation of the mesh deformation and shrinkage.
