The risks were clear: manual powder handling, fragmented workflows, and spatial constraints threatened both safety and productivity. What was required was not just containment, it was equipment integration, precision, and scalability. FPS Pharma delivered a custom OEB 7 isolator that transformed their approach. Compact enough to fit within the existing space, the isolator featured dual glass reactors (25L and 60L) for flexible batch sizes and seamless scale-up. It was equipped with an integrated Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer (ANFD) for enclosed filtration, drying and final dispensing with closed transfer systems and a cleaning system as well. This tailored solution led to a dramatic reduction in cleaning and validation time. The addition of control systems and a precision dispensing chamber with an integrated weighing scale enabled accurate dosing and packaging without breaching containment. After months of operation, the isolator produced multiple HPAPI batches with optimal quality and safety levels. But the benefits extended beyond containment: cleaning cycles were significantly shortened and downtime was reduced thanks to an ergonomic design that allowed the entire process to be completed within a single isolator, ensuring also operator comfort and ease of movement. Ultimately, this solution translated into faster product delivery and reduced operational costs.
