The Last Mile for Vaccines and Blood Products: SuperCooler Mobile Insulated Roll Container Protects Life-Critical Temperatures

This is the life-or-death line in the medical cold chain’s “last mile.”

Medical cold chain allows less margin for error than any other cold-chain application— Vaccines: 2℃~8℃; outside this range, they can lose potency. Blood products: 4℃±2℃; deviations can render them unusable. In vitro diagnostic reagents: strict temperature ranges with full traceability.

A temperature failure at any point can cause product loss—or put lives at risk.

This is the life-or-death line in the medical cold chain’s “last mile.”

Data show that China’s pharmaceutical cold-chain logistics market is expected to reach RMB 653.7 billion in 2025, with cold-chain logistics costs reaching RMB 27.652 billion. Yet rapid growth comes with major losses: around 25% of vaccines are wasted each year due to cold-chain temperature-control failures, while losses of blood products in China exceed 10%. By product category, vaccines account for 16.3% of cold-chain logistics costs, blood products 9.5%, and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) reagents as much as 21.0%.
