What is hepatitis?

Nowadays, more than 350 million people globally live with this life-threatening disease--Hepatitis.

So, what is hepatitis?

Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver which can damage liver and affect how well the liver functions. Since different causes, hepatitis can be divided into an acute infection or a chronic infection. Viral hepatitis is the most common type. It is caused by one of several viruses -- hepatitis viruses A, B, C, D, and E.

Symptoms of hepatitis:

1. Fever/Fatigue/Loss of appetite/Nausea

2. Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)

3. Abdominal pain/ Joint pain

4. Dark urine/Clay-colored bowel movements

If someone have these symptoms, to do a blood examination for screening liver function is necessary.
