Unconditional safety with operating solutions from GETT

Operating solutions from GETT Gerätetechnik GmbH meet the intensified EMC requirements of the product standard EN 60601-1-2 in the fourth edition.

The products of the Saxon manufacturer can be easily integrated into the latest generation of medical technology equipment. It is ensured that neither devices nor processes fail due to electromagnetic effects. In case of an emergency, it can save lives.

The EN60601-1-2 Edition 4 standard has been in effect since January 2019, defining electromagnetic compatibility as the ability of a medical device or medical system "to function satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without introducing unacceptable electromagnetic disturbances into that environment. " This EMC capability must be ensured and tested via various measures.

According to the definition of the Medical Devices Act, keyboards and computer mice are not medical devices or systems. For this reason, the EN 60601-1-2 standard is not legally applicable. Nevertheless, we would like to guarantee our customers trouble-free use. For this reason, the mandatory EMC test specifications of Edition 4 have been successfully carried out on some products* - further product tests will follow.

The unconditional safety applies both to the electromagnetic properties and to the high level of hygiene protection of the products, which can be achieved thanks to the glass and silicone user surfaces and the associated cleaning and disinfection capability.
