Pressotherapy: improves vascular and lymphatic systems, tones muscles

How it works and its benefits

Pressotherapy, also known as intermittent pneumatic compression, is a well-established therapeutic technique which can improve many chronic sufferers’ life. Especially, those suffering from diseases affecting the vascular and lymphatic system.

Yet, this technique is also used for aesthetic purposes: its lymphatic drainage massage can reduce the appearance of cellulite. The treatment is excellent for heavy/swollen legs and post-workout recovery too.

What if in addition to the benefits of the therapy people could also perform treatments in the comfort of home? This is I-Press: safe and easy-to-use medical device.

How does it work?

As we have mentioned before, it is a therapeutic technique that improves the function of the vascular and lymphatic system of the limbs and the abdomen by exerting a pressure on them.

The machine sends a sequence of different air pressures to the leggings/bracelet/abdominal band wore by the patient, switching between inflating and deflating. This sequence generates a massage in the distal-proximal sense, promoting venous return.

What are the main benefits of pressotherapy?

Beside stimulating the circulatory system and reducing swelling and stiffness in the limbs, this therapeutic technique eliminates toxins, tones muscles, and strengthens the immune system thanks to lymph moving properly.

What pathologies can pressotherapy treat?

Among the most common there are: venous and lymphatic insufficiency, peripheral arterial deficiency, lymphedema (both congenital and post-operative), varicose veins, chronic leg ulcer, oedemas due to chronic venous insufficiency and muscular activity, prevention of deep vein thrombosis.

In particular, I-Press has been designed and certified to treat oedema, lymphoedema, venous ulcers, venous insufficiency and to accelerate muscle recovery.

I-Press has been used in the world’s first clinical study on home pressotherapy.
