“Tirannus" Alexandrite and Nd: YAG Laser

Powerful Light Fusion for countless treatment possibilities

During this year’s edition of the largest medical event in the world, MEDICA, ITS Group is pleased to surprise our devoted Partners and new Collaborators with the technology called TIRANNUS. Splendid blend of two forceful laser sources allows to perform wide range of treatments, from epilation, vascular and pigmented lesions treatment, to small surgery.

Out of concern for the needs of each patient, ITS Group designed a unique combination of Alexandrite and Nd: YAG laser that grants successful treatment irregardless the Phototype.

Humans choose to get rid of the body hair, as its thermoregulatory function is no longer needed in the era of Dior, Chanel or United Colors of Benetton.

Laser systems with wavelengths 600-1100nm are preferred for epilation due to sufficient penetrance into a deeply located hair root. By using appropriate wavelength, pulse duration and fluence, thermal injury can be limited to the absorbing chromophore, melanin, which is rich in the hair shaft. However, in order to achieve permanent hair removal, hair bulb and stem cells should get destructed as well. Those structures are believed to be amelanotic. The extended theory of selective photothermolysis explains heat propagation from the hair shaft to the surrounding tissues (including hair bulb and stem cells), allowing the progressive, permanent hair removal.

Melanin absorption of Alexandrite (755nm) laser is very good. Unfortunately, cases of post-laser pigmentation disorders have been reported. Lasers based on Nd: YAG crystal, with 1064nm wavelength, only partially absorb melanin but deeper penetrance is achieved.

Knowing that each laser source has its limits, ITS Engineers merged two crystals that can be used separately, or in a MIXED modality, teaming up their capabilities to assure highest precision and efficacy. The 755 nm alexandrite laser wavelength makes it well suited for removing unwanted hair in case of patient with Phototype I-III. By combining it with 1064nm Nd: YAG power, it can be used on darker skin types with less risk of epidermal injury but maintaining high efficacy of the treatment.

Treatment of vascular lesions is one of the most frequently requested cutaneous laser procedures. In practice, laser light is applied to the skin and selectively absorbed by haemoglobin within the abnormal blood vessels, with their subsequent destruction. However, it is incredibly challenging procedure, requiring high precision, proper wavelength, pulse duration, spot size and fluence. ITS Group proudly offers 600J of power generated by Tirannus, allowing to efficiently treat many vascular abnormalities.

Suitable cases for therapy with ITS Tirannus are telangiectasia, Spider Nevus and varicose changes of leg veins, where widened tiny blood vessels cause threadlike red lines or patterns on the skin. Histologically, in case of telangiectasia, the vessels represent dilatation of preexisting post-capillary venules in the upper dermis with thickening of the vessel wall; while the name of the second disorder comes from a “spider-like” appearance of superficial vessels, fed by a central arteriole. Spider Nevus therapy predicts closure of the feeding arteriole and the subsequent treatment of the superficial branches.

Another example of treatments performed with ITS Group’s device is therapy of cherry angiomas or port wine stains. Based on published Clinical Studies, presenting experience of many scientists, ITS Group prepared General Guidelines for Deep Cutaneous Vascular Lesions and Leg Veins Treatment.

Countless possibilities for Tirannus don’t finish at Vascular treatments. Newest ITS device is highly effective also for removal of pigmented lesions, which are circumscribed, stable malformations of the skin, recognised by and excessive deposit of pigment. The first and foremost step of a therapy is a doubtless diagnosis of the entity to be treated and the exclusion of a malignant process. In case of benign, pigmented lesions, laser treatment remains the method of choice and Tirannus is a powerful, no-lose device, excellent for this purpose.

Last, but not least application of Tirannus is small surgery procedures. This term includes treating keratosis, skin tag and warts. Those overgrowths and rough lumps appearing on the skin, can be successfully removed by a specialist, with help of the highest quality ITS device.

ITS Group’s Scientific Team makes the safety and satisfaction of the client a priority. That’s why we listen carefully to our Partners and Collaborators feedback, constantly making every effort to give the best solutions for the medical-aesthetical technologies. Our devices are equipped with the intuitive software and many facilities, rendering the treatment comfortable not only for the patient but also the operator.

ITS Group stands out in sharp relief for the QUALITY, PRECISION and EFFECTIVENESS. We are proud to offer you 100% MADE IN ITALY devices, Technical Assistance and Medical Training at the topmost level.
