Innovation into audiometry. The new digital audiometer
PProducts inspired in the philosophy of the Internet of Things allow us to analyze and store data, automate processes, access the data online and manage it using other devices. But what exactly is the IoT?
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept based on the inter-networking of devices with others in their vicinity for increased efficiency and convenience. When this technology is applied to the health care sector, we call it the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). It is the collection of medical applications that connect to healthcare IT systems through online computer networks.
At Kiversal, we seek to offer innovative solutions based on medical devices created in line with this philosophy, and launched our first smart product in the hearing field: a hearing test device or digital audiometer. Our analysis of the market revealed that the audiometers currently available do not yet apply the benefits of digital technology to improve the productivity and efficiency of healthcare workers. We therefore saw a clear opportunity to present our new solution: Audixi 10.
THE MULTIPLE BENEFITS OF AUDIXI 10
This new digital audiometer allows screening to be performed with instant metrological calibration to eliminate unplanned downtime and reduce maintenance costs, which makes it an interesting option in comparison with other devices that need to be sent to the manufacturer or a technical professional to be calibrated every 1 – 2 years. This calibration increases operational costs and can mean that no audiometric tests can be performed for a period of up to two weeks. However, both of these issues can be avoided with Audixi 10.
Another characteristic of our device is its USB and internet connectivity (via Ethernet or Wi-Fi), which allow it to be connected to most current devices, printers and systems and quickly and easily export data. It also comes with a patient and appointment management system that can be accessed both locally and remotely.
Moreover, Audixi 10 performs automated hearing tests in normal mode and in fast mode, which takes only 2 minutes to complete. Its ergonomic design means that this lightweight device with a 10-inch touch screen resembles a tablet and can be taken wherever necessary. Its tactile interface incorporates mobile technology for exceptional ease of use: it is intuitive to use without the need for instructions and has been designed to improve user experience and increase the productivity of healthcare workers.
The benefits provided by Audixi 10 increase service standards, as professionals are able to work with consolidated data in a digital format on a device of higher quality and superior design that offers new possibilities in terms of portability and calibration. Audixi 10 digital audiometers optimize hearing screening both in terms of performance and service quality.
