Mirror therapy (MT) is a treatment method based on the theory of mirror neurons, which utilizes the plasticity of the brain to conduct rehabilitation training through visual feedback, motor observation, motor imagination, and motor imitation. Mirror therapy (also known as mirror box therapy) is a neuro muscular therapy used to help stroke patients reduce pain and restore the function of the affected upper limbs. This technology is also used to alleviate phantom limb pain in amputees and alleviate chronic pain in individuals with complex regional pain syndrome and other pain conditions.
