There are only a few more days left till the MEDICA 2016! This year we are presenting you a very special innovation: the fully automated formalin mixing station AFDS-100.

The reclassification of formaldehyde is a frequently discussed issue among all industries. In this connection, not only maximum concentration values at the workplace for work involving formalin but also sustainable reduction of formalin concentration in working environments play an important role. Various institutions have published information on safe handling of formaldehyde and formalin. The institutions advice, among other things, to avoid the mixture of a 3.7% formalin solution of 37% stock solution and instead to convert to ready for use 3.7% formalin solution. This advice however, cannot be implemented in practice by all pathologies. We have developed a fully automated formalin mixing station to tackle that issue. Hence, lab staff does not get into contact with 37% stock solution and the formalin concentration in the pathology is subsequently reduced.

Thanks to its compact design, the mixing station is also suitable for small laboratories. The integrated microprocessor within the device allows you to easily control all operations, such as preparing a 3.7% standard solution, through one single surface at the control panel with LCD display. Additionally, it is possible to prepare a customized mixture by using variable quantities of formalin, purified water and a buffer liquid. The prepared mixture can be then drained directly from a tap at the device or transferred to multiple remote stations that are up to 200 meters away.
