What We Saw at Orgatec Tokyo 2026
and Where KYC Caster Fits In
In June 2026, Orgatec Tokyo — the largest office furniture trade show in Asia — drew designers, architects, and business leaders from around the world to Tokyo Big Sight. Walking the floor, one message came through clearly: the office is no longer just a place to work. It's a place people should genuinely want to be.
Three major Japanese brands stood out with distinct visions. Itoki centered its booth around "Econifa," a sustainable design solution built from domestically sourced timber and upcycled materials. Their message was compelling — circular design isn't just good for the planet; it drives employee engagement and long-term corporate value. Kokuyo took the theme "Find your experience." and made it tangible, showcasing three chairs developed from the perspective of human experience — including the ingCloud, winner of the Red Dot Design Award 2026 Best of the Best, and a first-ever preview of their next-generation flagship chair. The booth itself was designed so that visitors' movements and lighting responded to each other, creating a space that felt alive. Okamura won the show's top award with "YAA," a Blending Furniture series that challenges the traditional role of the office partition. Rather than dividing people, YAA is designed to gently connect them — across departments, roles, and hierarchies — turning the office into a place where spontaneous interaction feels natural.
Amid all this innovation in design and human experience, one detail often goes unnoticed — yet quietly determines whether a space can truly flex and move: the caster.
Modular furniture that reconfigures on demand. Meeting chairs that glide silently across the floor. Mobile storage that rolls into place without disturbing a conversation. None of it works without the right wheel underneath. That's the space KYC Caster has occupied for decades.
Our casters feature customizable tread hardness, engineered to suit different floor types and load requirements — balancing quiet movement with long-term durability. The classic caster series are designed to complement high-end furniture without compromising its aesthetic. And for brands that take sustainability seriously, our hydrolysis-resistant materials extend product lifespan — making every caster a small but meaningful part of the earth. Taiwan-made, held to Japanese quality standards, KYC Caster is built for partners who believe the details matter.
