75 Years of Precision, Innovation, and Impact

75 Years of Precision, Innovation, and Impact

Lode B.V. stands as a global leader in medical ergometry — a position built on over 75 years of relentless innovation, clinical-grade precision, and meaningful partnerships. Since its foundation in 1948 by Freerk Lode in the city of Groningen, Lode has continually shaped and set the standard for the world of ergometry.
From our very first electromagnetic bicycle ergometer introduced in 1952 to today’s comprehensive portfolio of ergometers, treadmills and software solutions, our heritage is one of scientific rigor, technological advancement, and unwavering commitment to human performance.
A Mission That Moves People

Our mission is simple yet powerful:

“To improve athletes and patients and help them to get the best out of themselves.”

At Lode, we understand that accuracy, reliability, and durability are not just technical features — they are essential to improving lives, enabling recovery, and pushing the limits of athletic performance.

Every device that leaves our factory is dynamically calibrated, produced under the strictest quality control, and backed by ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certification. We also meet major global regulatory standards, including MDD and MDR compliance, securing our reputation as a trustworthy partner in hospitals, research institutes, and sports centers around the world.

Driven by Core Values

Throughout our history, we have remained committed to our core values:

• Quality – Medical-grade precision and long-term durability are embedded in every product.
• Innovation – We co-create with users and institutions to stay ahead of tomorrow’s challenges.
• Social Impact – Our products empower rehabilitation, recovery, and performance globally.
• Fun – Passion fuels our people, and joy drives innovation.

Global Leader, Local Roots

From our headquarters at the Zernike Science Park in Groningen, Lode continues to evolve. While our reach is global, our focus remains deeply human — delivering tools that support better diagnostics, research, rehabilitation, and athletic excellence. Whether in a university hospital in Tokyo, a sports lab in Munich, or a rehabilitation center in São Paulo — Lode equipment is trusted where performance and recovery matter most.
