Manusa launches the new lead-lined EI fire-rated hermetic door, the ideal solution for safe critical environments

Manusa, a leading brand in automatic doors and intelligent access solutions, has launched the new lead-lined EI fire-rated hermetic door. This model provides a comprehensive solution for critical environments by combining several types of protection at once: radiation shielding, fire resistance, and airtight sealing.

Its triple functionality makes this door the ideal choice for sectors with stringent safety requirements and controlled conditions, such as healthcare and pharmaceutical facilities.

One of the three essential elements of this automatic door is its lead layer, with a thickness of up to 3 millimetres. This sheet provides effective shielding against ionising radiation and protects patients and professionals in X-ray rooms and radiology units.

This is complemented by its fire resistance. The design includes a high-pressure laminate (HPL) panel and a frame with intumescent material, which expands in the event of a fire and increases the door’s sealing capacity. In this way, the model guarantees the containment of flames, smoke, and gases for at least 60 minutes (EI classification).

Thirdly, airtightness is ensured by a perimeter sealing system that grants the highest air permeability classification (Class D). This minimises air leakage, prevents the spread of infectious agents, and helps maintain stable pressure and temperature conditions within the room. In addition, its smooth, screw-free surfaces facilitate disinfection and the maintenance of aseptic conditions.

The door can be intelligently integrated into the building’s management and security systems through the Visio+ Hermetic operator. Based on IoT technology, this operator enables remote door management without compromising the maximum airtightness offered by this model. Manusa also offers extensive customisation options in terms of materials and accessories, such as the optional lead-lined glass viewing panel or the OptimaProx+ proximity sensor, among others.
