When sustainability meets performance

Eco-design according to NatéoSanté

NatéoSanté's mission to protect everyone's health by cleaning up indoor air is reflected in its uncompromising commitment to environmentally-friendly design and manufacturing processes. The company demonstrates this commitment through its eco-design approach, visible at every stage in the life cycle of its products. This philosophy is also reflected in the eco-construction of its premises, ideally located near Nantes in France. As a manufacturer of airborne health solutions, it was unthinkable for NatéoSanté to design eco-designed products without guaranteeing their effectiveness and safety. In this article, we reveal how NatéoSanté integrates eco-design into every facet of its business.

NatéoSanté has designed the first fully eco-designed air purifier. Called the "Eolis Air Manager", it is the first to be manufactured entirely in France. To assess its environmental impact, we need to look closely at all the stages in its life cycle, from design to manufacture, then from assembly to final recycling of the appliance:

- Raw materials: The materials chosen for EOLIS Air Manager are emission-free, free of additives and paint, and selected for their durability.

- French manufacture: No varnish or glue is used in assembly. NatéoSanté's air purifier production units are located in France, close to its head office, minimising its carbon footprint.

- Eco-friendly packaging: NatéoSanté air purifiers are wrapped in packaging made from recycled materials, then packed in cushioning and packaging made entirely from cardboard from eco-sourced sources.

- Eco-responsible use: The solutions are designed for maximum durability, rejecting any notion of programmed obsolescence. As eco-designed air purifiers, they consume little energy and are easy to repair.

- End of life / Recycling: The filter blocks are collected and recycled thanks to a partnership with Clik Eco. The other components are also designed to be recyclable, making this part of a circular approach.

In addition, the company was keen to prove that eco-design can go hand in hand with efficiency and safety. As a result, the EOLIS Air Manager air purifier not only stands out for its ecological qualities, but also offers users peace of mind by ensuring air purification without compromising their health.

NatéoSanté received support from the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) to verify the performance of its eco-designed professional air purifier by working with an independent body accredited by the European Commission's ETV programme, with the aim of proving the safety of its products.

The results of these various tests confirmed that EOLIS Air Manager air purifiers do not generate any emissions of particles, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) or nitrogen dioxide (NOx), even during use. These findings have led to ETV certification. NatéoSanté air purifiers are therefore the only air purifiers on the market to produce no pollution, a significant feature that is important to highlight. NatéoSanté is stepping up its commitment to sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by being awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal.

In its ongoing quest for sustainability and respect for the environment, the company has also adopted a frugal architectural approach for its premises, favouring local, resource-efficient solutions. The buildings, constructed using untreated wood from a local sawmill, illustrate this low-tech philosophy, contributing to the economy. This approach aims to ensure natural comfort by minimising the use of external technical resources and energy, which has led to significant energy savings, particularly in heating.

A pioneer in air purification, NatéoSanté demonstrates a strong commitment to eco-design through its first eco-designed air purifier, the Eolis Air Manager, and a global approach focused on safety and sustainability. The company embodies an integrated model of environmental responsibility, reinforcing its leadership in the field of airborne health.
