Operating room 4.0

In February 2023, an article was published in the online magazine HealthTech360 by the Milan Polytechnic Foundation, on the HVAC systems of a 4.0 operating room. The study conducted by the Milan Polytechnic Foundation highlighted the relationship between the incidence of surgical site infections (SSI) and HVAC systems. Thanks to the data recorded by the Nicfa software through continuous monitoring, the traditional operating room and the 4.0 operating room were compared to create a reference model for the effective implementation of a 4.0 ventilation system. The study highlights the advantages and limitations, the emphasis is placed on the Connected Care system and in particular on the creation of the Digital Environmental Record, a valuable tool for the healthcare facility (public or private) for quality control, risk prevention and the promotion of patient safety.
