OPELAIII In Ambulance With Operating Room During Tokyo Olympic Games

Cramped space and insufficient light in off-site locations will no longer hinder surgery

The first of its kind in Japan, an ambulance with operating room capability will be deployed on standby during Tokyo Olympics. In preparation, a drill simulating an emergency situation was performed by EMS team of Tokyo Women's Medical University Hospital wherein OPELAIII was used in the said ambulance while treating victims of a hypothetical terrorist attack. OPELAIII proved effective even outside of normal OR environment in providing ample lighting for surgery.
