T-URS: Precision You Can See — and Trust
OPTEC Endoscopy Systems' new semi-rigid ureteroscope, built for urologists
Anyone who has tried to locate a stone fragment in a narrow, tortuous ureter under subpar image quality knows the truth: endoscope optics often determine how long a procedure takes — and how well it goes. That's exactly where T-URS comes in, OPTEC Endoscopy Systems' new semi-rigid ureteroscope. It pairs crisp HD optics with a build engineered to withstand hundreds of sterilization cycles under an intensive OR schedule, and a range of variants designed around the case in front of you rather than the other way around.
Crystal-Clear Vision: HD Fiber Bundle Meets Sapphire Tip Lens
At the core of T-URS is a high-density HD fiber bundle that delivers brilliant illumination and consistently sharp, high-contrast imagery across an 84° field of view. The optics are complemented by a scratch-resistant, sapphire-sealed tip lens for lasting optical clarity even after repeated sterilization, and a columnar anti-deformation ocular mirror that prevents spherical distortion across the full field of view. In practice, that means sharper detection of small stone fragments, clearer differentiation of tissue structures, and dependable image quality throughout the instrument's service life.
Built for Demanding Clinical Use
T-URS's shaft combines medical-grade stainless steel with a titanium alloy, delivering structural durability with controlled flexibility. A laser-welded flush adapter ensures a completely water-tight seal at the shaft-adapter junction, and the dual-layer, auto-closing valve maintains instrument channel integrity during accessory exchanges — with no fluid loss. T-URS is autoclavable at 134°C and validated for hundreds of sterilization cycles, engineered for longevity in daily clinical use and more predictable capital costs over time. The ocular connector is universally compatible with Storz, Wolf, and Olympus systems.
A Model for Every Clinical Need
No two cases are alike — which is why T-URS is offered as a family of three sizes, each available in two working lengths (430 mm and 315 mm):
T-URS Large (OP 490550): 8 / 9.8 Fr, 5 Fr working channel, 84° FOV
T-URS Medium (OP 490560): 6 / 7.5 Fr, 4 Fr working channel, 84° FOV
T-URS Slim (OP 490570): 4.5 / 6.5 Fr, 3 Fr working channel, 70° FOV
Matching accessories — foreign body, scissors, and biopsy forceps — are available in 3 Fr, 4 Fr, and 5 Fr, so the full instrument set can be tailored precisely to the procedure at hand.
Clinical Applications
T-URS supports a broad range of procedures: ureterolithiasis treatment with Ho:YAG or Thulium laser lithotripsy (including the OPTEC Thulium Duo), diagnostic ureteroscopy with full visualization of the ureter and renal pelvis thanks to the 84° FOV, upper tract biopsy for UTUC surveillance, renal foreign body and stent retrieval, and ureteral stricture assessment with guidewire placement.
The Bottom Line
T-URS addresses three of the most common pain points in ureteroscopy: inadequate image quality at critical moments, premature wear under heavy use, and a lack of flexibility across varied case profiles. CE certified and available in three sizes with two working lengths each, T-URS can be configured to match your case mix precisely.
