FlowOx – Applying Intermittent Negative Pressure (INP) to improve peripheral circulation

FlowOx applies Intermittent Negative Pressure (INP) to the lower limbs, which leads to rapid fluctuations in blood flow in the arterial circulation and microcirculation.

The oscillations in blood flow augment the shear forces exerted against the arterial wall, which triggers a favorable response by stimulating various processes in the vasculature, ultimately resulting in localized vasodilation and improved endothelial function. This is similar to the mechanisms that come into play during physical exercise. INP has a direct impact on macro- and microcirculation since the negative pressure (suction) acts directly on all the tissue subjected to it (i.e. the whole limb) and thereby improves flow broadly.

FlowOx is the only medical device based on INP and available for home use. INP does not have any contraindications. It is safe, simple to use and does not create associated pain due to direct pressure points. Compared to Pneumatic Compression (PC), the risk of skin damage is reduced given the absence of repeated pressure on

contact points on the skin.

INP for home treatment is a new entrant in the market. The technology is owned by Otivio and there are no competing products on the market. FlowOx is designed and developed according to novel standards and has a modern design which fits into any modern home.
