Nutritional supplements
Nutritional tablets have been on the market for decades. Find out which are the most commercialized forms by the nutraceutical industry.
The use of dietary supplements to improve health and quality of life is increasingly common among people around the world.
At PAT Group, we have developed a variety of production solutions that protect the nutritional value and quality of formulations.
Who uses nutraceuticals and why?
The nutraceutical industry is dedicated to addressing nutritional deficiencies caused by various reasons, such as inadequate diets, diseases, allergies, intolerances, pregnancy or lactation. To meet these needs, many people resort to the consumption of nutritional supplements to improve their energy and physical and/or mental performance. These boosters act as substitutes, providing nutrients to the body in an easy and accessible way through oral intake.
Types of Tablets Used for Nutraceuticals
Tablets: This format begins to break down when it reaches the stomach or some other part of the gastrointestinal tract. It can come in the form of pills, oval tablets, capsules or rounded.
Chewable tablets: They are designed to be crushed before reaching the stomach, to achieve this, the taste will be a substantial factor. This format is usually used for vitamins and calcium tablets.
Sublingual and buccal tablets: Both are digested by saliva in the mouth. Some calcium and dietary supplements are taken this way due to their efficacy and ease of administration.
Effervescent tablets: Dissolution begins immediately when placed in water, releasing carbon dioxide and effervescence in the process. They usually contain different nutraceutical and pharmaceutical elements, such as antacids, cold relief supplements, and minor pain relievers.
Our development and manufacturing solutions pave the way for a multitude of new products and supplements.
