CS Medical inks U.S. distribution deal with GE Healthcare

CS Medical said last week that it inked a distribution deal that’s slated to see GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE) distribute its TD 100 esophageal ultrasound probe disinfector in the U.S.

“This agreement demonstrates both companies’ continued commitment to minimizing healthcare-acquired infections. CS Medical’s [transesophageal echocardiogram] Complete Care product line, which includes the TD 100, provides healthcare professionals the tools to properly and effectively reprocess the delicate, semi-critical TEE ultrasound probe. The TD 100 has completed over 2.3 million successful disinfections,” president Mark Leath said in prepared remarks.

“This agreement reinforces GE’s ongoing pledge to provide a variety of ultrasound disinfection solutions to help our customers improve patient outcomes and address the economic challenges associated with HAIs,” added GE’s high-level disinfection ultrasound GM Martin Jossie.

The TD 100 device, designed to use CS Medical’s TD-5 disinfectant, is the only automated TEE probe disinfector to be tested and approved by “the major TEE manufacturers,” the company claimed.

The deal with GE Healthcare isn’t the only distro action for CS Medical, which in May inked a deal to offer the Nephros (OTC:NEPH) DSU-H ultrafilter as an option with the TD 100.
