Test Strips Show Strength of Bleach in Canister Wipes, Spray Cartridges

Current Technologies’ Bleach-Rite Test Strips allows users to quickly and easily see if a canister of bleach wipes is still efficacious.

If the lid of a canister is left open, the bleach may have lost efficacy and not be strong enough to disinfect. A healthcare or research facility may be at risk of continuing to use wipes from that canister, unaware it is not necessarily killing germs. But with the strips, users squeeze out a small amount of solution from the wipes onto a test strip and wait 60 seconds. The indicator strip is compared to the color chart on the test strip bottle. If the color is dark enough it indicates that the bleach strength of the wipe is at or above. If the color is not dark enough the user knows the bleach wipes in the canister are not strong enough to disinfect and should discard the canister.
