Pulpdent Donates Fluoride Varnish to Outreach Program

Pulpdent has donated 800 applications of its Embrace Varnish to Virtudent’s outreach program serving the Boys and Girls Clubs of New Hampshire, increasing access to dental care for low-income children in the state.

Virtudent’s research suggests that low-income youth lack access to dental care due to the uneven distribution of dentists in the United States and the relatively small number of dentists who accept Medicaid. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that more than 15% of children and adolescents age 2 to 17 did not see a dentist in 2015.

Virtudent offers on-site dental care and teledentistry services to 4,200 children at eight Boys and Girls Clubs locations throughout New Hampshire. According to the company, 88% of these on-site appointments include a fluoride varnish treatment. Embrace Varnish releases fluoride, calcium, and phosphate to help strengthen teeth.
