Therapy animals take center stage in ‘World’s Largest Pet Walk’

Nonprofit group Pet Partners is encouraging folks to get out and walk in support of its animal therapy program

Pet lovers across the U.S. are invited to throw on their sneakers, grab their leashes, and hit the pavement this September to raise funds for emotional support animals.

Pet Partners, a national nonprofit group known for its therapy animal program, is set to host its fifth annual “World’s Largest Pet Walk” on Sept. 24. The event, which is being held in partnership with the Wellness Pet Company, aims to raise $100,000 in support of Pet Partners’ therapy animal visitation offerings.

Those participating in the walk are encouraged to walk at any time and location on Sept. 24. There is no registration fee to participate, though Pet Partners encourages supporters to fundraise in honor of their participation.

“Pets are not only good for our emotional well-being but can also be beneficial to our physical health as well, and this walk proves just that,” says the group’s president and CEO, C. Annie Peters. “Walking with your pet can have positive outcomes for both the pet and the pet parent, so participating in this event is a win-win!”

Participants are encouraged to share photos of their walk on social media using the hashtag #WorldsLargestPetWalk. For more, click here https://petpartners.org/wlpw2022/
