HealthWorks Collective Connects People for a Better Healthcare Business

As an emergency medicine physician, I work at the gateway to the hospital. For many patients, this is their only gateway to our healthcare system at all.

The emergency department sees all-comers: whoever walks in the door. Working at this nexus comes with major responsibilities from educating patients about healthcare basics to making important decisions affecting life, death and yes, hospital resources. Making healthcare a better business for everyone is something that I’ve injected into my training all while honing my bedside manner. It’s also why I have decided to work closely with the team at Healthworks Collective: to connect more people dedicated to building a better healthcare system.

By way of background, I’m a recent graduate of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and currently an emergency medicine resident in New York City. With my engineering background, I actively pursued healthcare technology development as Practice Fusion’s Clinical Scholar-in-Residence and Co-Founder of QuantifiedCare. I was a Policy Analyst for the US Department of Health and Human Services, specializing in meaningful use of health IT. Connecting people with engaging health content is also an important personal interest, and I worked in the medical unit for The Dr. Oz Show where in addition to creating engaging television content, I led large-scale EHR implementations of Practice Fusion at pop-up clinics across the country.

Building a better healthcare business is a multidisciplinary endeavor, and many of the thought leaders in the space are joining the conversation right here at the Healthworks Collective. Thought-provoking headlines around health information technology and emerging ways to use health data are already key parts of our dialogue.
