HOW A BASEBALL HAT CAN IMPROVE YOUR HEARING

Max Virtual’s wearable device for the hard of hearing

2014 is shaping up to be the year of wearable gadgets, and the realm of medical technology is no exception. While many of these devices focus on self-tracking and monitoring, others aim to improve the quality of certain individual’s day-to-day life. One great example is Cynaps Enhance, a bone conduction hearing device built into a baseball hat.

Max Virtual developed the Cynaps Enhance cap for those with conductive, unilateral, and even moderate cases of mixed hearing loss. It works by capturing sound in stereo and transmitting it to wearers’ inner ears with vibration. Max Virtual touts the hat as an inexpensive, non-invasive alternative to costly hearing-aids and surgeries.

Although the company sells pre-wired baseball hats, the hearing device can also be installed into any headgear such as a cap, band, helmet or hardhat.
