MRI Compatible Pacing System

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), when performed with Kora 100 SR and DR Pacemakers, associated to the Sorin BEFLEX pacing lead, is undeniably a safe experience for patients. Pacemakers wearers are usually more than 65 years old and require MRI examinations for perfect diagnosis and treatment.

Kora 100’s strength is that it was designed both for patients and medical staff. During an MRI examination, device settings which allow safe operation are automatically enabled when Kora 100 pacemakers detect the scanner’s magnetic field. The same safe functioning mode operates when the patient leaves the MRI field, returning to normal mode in less than five minutes.

The amount of time that Kora 100 patients operate in MRI mode is limited. We told you, the device was developed both for patients and physicians.
